" The Toyota Prius hybrid electric car is the top selling green car in the U.S.. But is this hybrid really green, or just a guilt free yippie mobile? Embarking on a hybrid car adventure, WebRidesTV host Jeremy Lusk reviews the Toyota Prius during a 320-mile West Coast road trip from the smoggy British Petroleum Oil Refineries in Carson, California to the majestic mountain cliffs of Big Sur. There are two things about the prius that are no good. The looks and the horse power bacily suck. Ya you may have good gas milage but do you want to be smoked at every stop light. Me think's not. With gas prices at 1.99 a gallon the prius is not looking good to people any more. And if you want improved gas milage go to your nearest car part store and buy a K@N filter and other products that improve gas milage. Because its better to just pay 500 bucks than pay 22,000 dollars for a new prius.

I've owned them both... From replacing the gear shift shaft of the VW to the roll up window mechanism in the first 30,000 miles... I sold that VW back to the dealer, taking a loss just to get rid of it. The Prius -- reliable, fuel efficient, easy, and no repairs in 100,000 miles

I've owned them both... My (99) VW TDI inspired my purchase of the Prius. I have never repaired a car as much as the VW starting with a gear shift shaft replacement in the first week and an electric window mechanism before I got rid of it -- only 30,000 miles or so on it. NO problems with the Prius -- NOT ONE in over 110,000 miles! And as good fuel economy as the TDI.

I wouldn't say American's have a "raging hardon" for the Prius, that applies lust. Amercians lust for sport cars or expensive luxury cars. Americans like the Prius because it saves on gas and money and to some its "green"(until the batteries need replacing then what you've saved comes back to bite you.)
